Managed reference data for post codes used for validation, harmonization, and standardization of postal addressing.

Description

This reference data defines the structure, format, and routing characteristics of postal codes across countries. It includes routing keys that describe the hierarchical or regional logic behind postal codes, along with format patterns that define their expected syntax, such as length, character set, and grouping. The metadata also maintains dummy formats (used for placeholder or test data) and outdated formats (retained for historical compatibility). By providing machine-readable definitions, this metadata enables consistent parsing, validation, and normalization of post codes in address data.
