Data quality rules

Data quality ruleDescriptionCriticality
Deprecated post code format identified (Portugal)This rule searches for the "Old" post code format of Portugal which consists of 4 digits: NNNN. The Portuguese postal service (C.T.T.) has changed the postal code system in 1999-2000. The old codes (Código Postal) consisted of a block of 4 digits, starting with a number between 1 and 9. In 1999, three extra digits were added to this code. It is likely to find postal codes with 4 or 7 digits for a transition period. In the new codes, the seven digits is formatted: NNNN-NNN. The first four digits will correspond to the old postal code. When the old four-digit code was still in use, large users were indicated by the word CODEX after the name of the town. Now that the seven-digit code is used, the word CODEX should no longer be found in or used for addresses.ERROR
Dummy post code detected (PT)Regular expression/Not available post code
Regular expression/One digit multiplied several times post code
Regular expression/Ordinal sequence of numbers
Regular expression/Single digit post code
Regular expression/Very long digits post code.
This data quality rule checks whether the post code comprises dubious patterns that may render the record incorrect. The patterns, selected specifically for PT (Portugal) are the following: Regular expression/Mononumerical post code with delimeter

Post code format invalid (Portugal)This rule checks the post code format of Portugal. The Portuguese postal service (C.T.T.) has changed the postal code system in 1999-2000. The old codes (Código Postal) consisted of a block of 4 digits, starting with a number between 1 and 9, and are always followed on the last line of the address by the town name in upper case.
