Integration of US National Plan & Provider Enumeration System (US.NPPES)

Release date: 2026-03-19
Release details
We have integrated a new data source from the United States – the National Plan & Provider Enumeration System (NPPES), provided by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
NPPES was established under the Administrative Simplification provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) to assign unique identifiers to healthcare providers and organizations. It serves as an official registry of entities operating within the U.S. healthcare ecosystem.
With this integration, CDQ expands its coverage in the healthcare domain by providing access to verified business partner data from the U.S. market. The dataset includes both healthcare organizations and individual healthcare professionals.
Records retrieved from NPPES include key attributes such as:
- name
- addresses (including headquater, mailing and practice/location addresses)
- status
- National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- category (healthcare organization or healthcare professional)
- contact details (phone numbers)
This integration enables more accurate identification and enrichment of healthcare-related business partners in CDQ.
