Name Name of a concept, e.g. a data model concept. In contrast to terms, the name does not depend on a given context, e.g. a country-specific language. Data Validation and Correction (category: Automation, sort rank: 190)
Short description Informal and short human-readable definition of a concept. Real-time validation of manual data entry by continuously improved data quality rules.
Description Informal and comprehensive human-readable definition of a concept. The actual data maintenance is often performed by shared service centers in low cost countries. Data maintainers e.g. in India don’t know well about address formats or names in Germany. Additionally, they have to manual copy information from (also handwritten) documents. Thus, data maintenance is error-prone. Wrong data entries that are not already identified and corrected during creation cause duplicates (matches not found by regular checks) later process costs e.g. late payments, wrong deliveries, etc. and additional effort for revising the data. CDQ checks a given record by +1’500 data quality rules at 1 interface. The data quality rules are managed by CDQ, based on continuous community feedback. Integrated into a Client workflow, this service allows for real-time quality gates. Corrections for defective records are suggested employing CDQ’s cleansing and enrichment features. Customizable regarding rule selection and provided corrections. Comprises name, identifier, address, status, and compliance checks among others.
