Name Name of a concept, e.g. a data model concept. In contrast to terms, the name does not depend on a given context, e.g. a country-specific language. Custom Data Quality Rules (category: , sort rank: 150, product: Data Quality Services)
Short description Informal and short human-readable definition of a concept. Automated data quality checks by customizable company-specific data quality rules.
Description Informal and comprehensive human-readable definition of a concept. The implementation of data quality checks is expensive and requires incorporation of IT staff. Rule implementations are usually not reusable in different systems

Data quality requirements are usually not documented or spread in various documents across the organization. Standard data quality checks enabled by SAP are usually not sufficiently comprehensive (e.g. just simple format checks) or not properly maintained or activated. Reference data which specifies allowed values or standard values to be used is not actively managed or not properly documented. Next to the CDQ Community Rules companies can document additional data quality rules that are specific to the organization Custom rules are implemented using standard templates that automatically generate an executable data quality rule. Community and custom rules are executed using the identical interfaces, so the use of custom rules does not require the integration of additional interfaces. One consolidated response is provided.
